Will There Be Dance Choreography Copyrights Issue?

Posted on | August 30, 2009 |

Hi everyone, I would like to know, if a school is having a dance course for the students, and using the song and the dance choreography the same as what the singer used, will there be issues on copyrights? Is it allowed to do so?
Secondly, if not, the school uses songs but their own choreography, will there be a need to purchase any song copyrights? I’ve seen quite a number of dance schools using songs but their own dance choreo, was wondering if there are any legal issues on it and whether we are allowed to use the songs. Thanks in advance!

Did you know?…I love dance music. I rule the dance floor. Everyday you can find me grooving to today’s top dance hits.

your definately allowed to use the songs and teach the original choreography. theres no real rules against it unless your in a competition or something then you have to follow the rules of that specific competition but if your just learning it its fine.
