What Are Some Books Similar To The Septimus Heap Series And The Immortal Secrets Of Nicholas Flamel Series?

Im really into reading these fantasy type novels and id like to get some other good reads. im into books like the septimus heap series, the immortal secrets of nicholas flamel series, books like that. they deal with magic and other stuff.
i tried reading the artemis fowl series but i just cannot get into it.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
