Gr. 5-9. Fourteen-year-old Jamie is tired of feeling insecure: at home she’s barraged with media images of physically flawless young women; at school, she’s hassled by a gang of catty, manicured classmates. Venting her frustrations in her diary, she chronicles the adventures of invented superhero Isabella (IS) who, with her signature wrist flick, sends “positivity rays” that destroy her nemesis, Myrna, and her “evil clique of Populars.” Through a wild chain of events, (more…)

I really enjoyed this book, it was fun, fast read, with an empowering message. I think this book will resonate with young female teens. I particularly liked Jamie’s personal growth and how even though she could write a bestseller at fourteen she still had a lot to learn about friendship and self courage. I also enjoyed how dimensional the characters were, with the exception of the two villains, Devillers did an excellent job characterization. I also liked the story within the story. This was an excellent choice.

Turning into a Disney Channel movie renamed Read it and Weep, this truly is one of my favorite books. This book DOES leave you with a message, “Just to be yourself”. This book is a fun read and brings you into the “High School World”. This book also gives you an example of handling your anger, just to write a story and write about fantasy mixed in with real life. Like writing in the book and saying someone (that you hate) disappered and never bothered you again. I wish life was like that, but it’s not unfortunatly, but in this book it is. This author writes it with so much depth that it makes me want to read it over and over again. Even though this was a quick read, I highly enjoyed it and read it about 6 times in the last month. If you wish to leave your troubles at middle school and enter a world where things can just happen, pick up this book and start to read through its pages. I hope the disney channel movie, starring the Pannabaker sisters, will be enjoyable and like the book. But you should read this before the movie comes out on disney, so you have a clear glimpse of how the plot is like. Read this one folks, You won’t be disappointed!

    Hope you enjoy!

    Jamie’s Journal
Jamie writes in her journal every single day, creating a story that is a mix of biography and fantasy. She renames her friends and her classmates as well as herself.

This book is about a girl who accidentally emails her teacher her diary instead if her assignment. The teacher thinks it’s the greatest piece of writing and reads it to the class…
